Before you start
Know the promise.
Nightbloom is a single-player bullet-heaven defense game. You aim at incoming meteors, gather what they leave behind, draft upgrades for the current run, and carry permanent progression into the next.
The official game description says there are no loot boxes. Cosmetics and progression sit alongside the core play loop—not a random paid roll.
The first-run sequence
Six decisions, in order.
- 01
Hold and drag to aim
Think of your pointer or touch as a direction, not a target. Use smooth changes so your fire tracks the most immediate threat.
- 02
Break the dangerous meteors first
Do not chase every glowing object equally. Clear the pressure that is closest to becoming a problem, then sweep the rest.
- 03
Collect the run's Stardust
Shattered threats turn defense into momentum. Keep the gather-and-upgrade rhythm moving instead of staring at one lane.
- 04
Draft toward one idea
A focused set of upgrades is easier to understand and improve than a pile of unrelated bonuses.
- 05
Respect wave transitions
When pressure rises, simplify. Comet bosses and the siege ring reward steady decisions more than last-second panic.
- 06
Spend Petals with intent
Between runs, read connected Bloom Tree nodes and choose a direction. Permanent progress compounds over time.
Better decisions
Three habits beat frantic reactions.
Scan wide, then commit
Read the whole ring for a moment, choose the clearest threat, and finish that decision before snapping elsewhere.
Let upgrades tell a story
Ask whether the next draft strengthens what already works. Clear synergy is easier to pilot under pressure.
Use failure as a reading
Notice what ended the run: targeting, wave control, or an unfocused build. Fix one cause on the next attempt.
After the run
Turn Petals into a plan.
Open the Bloom Tree, read the connected routes, and invest toward a coherent goal. Exact node values and Rebloom trade-offs can change, so the live in-game panel should always be your source of truth.
